Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Provide accounting expertise and support to include all aspects of the accounting department for multiple locations. Understand and participate in preparing journal entries and bank reconciliations, maintenance of fixed asset files, records related to accounts payable and accruals, reconciliations of account balances, overall maintenance of the general ledger, and production of financial statements. Understand how to assess actual to budgeted variances and identify source documents to assist in analyzing these. Help create, document and maintain department processes and procedures for accounting department tasks, ensure they are being followed, and help train on these, as applicable. Participate in accounting department projects and major recurring items like financial statement audits, Medicaid audits, cost reports, budgets, new business or software implementation, regulatory reporting requirements, other research, and additional items similar to these.
